The Gloriæ Dei Cantores Schola gains its expertise and experience from intensive study of Gregorian chant, and daily chanting of the Liturgy of the Hours as well as the Ordinary and Proper of the Mass at the Church of the Transfiguration in Orleans, MA. Their scholarship comes from years of instruction with the Monks of St. Peter’s Abbey, Solesmes, France, and thirty years of collaboration with the late Dr. Mary Berry, CBE of the Schola Gregoriana, Cambridge, England. The Schola conducts chant workshops, performs in concert with the choir, and has recorded eight CD’s of Gregorian chant, highlighting various seasons and special feasts of the church year. The Schola has been critically acclaimed in both Europe and the U.S. for its proper regard for rhythmic flexibility, and sensitivity to both musical and textural phrase.
